At Muskoka Botanics, we believe in keeping things simple. Every soap and lotion contains a short list of pure, plant-based ingredients — no parabens, no harmful chemicals, no unnecessary fillers. We carefully select organic nut oils, botanicals, essential oils, and natural emollients that are safe for your skin, ethically sourced, and crafted to both cleanse and nourish. Every ingredient has a purpose, and every batch is uniquely crafted.
Base Oils & Butters
Almond Oil – Rich in vitamins A and E, this oil nourishes and softens dry skin.
Olive Oil (Extra Virgin) – Gentle and moisturizing, it helps restore skin’s natural barrier.
Castor Seed Oil – Known for its creamy lather, it hydrates and supports skin health.
Jojoba Oil – Closely mimics skin’s natural oils, balancing and soothing sensitive skin.
Shea Butter – Deeply moisturizing and protective, ideal for calming dry patches.
Coconut Butter – Adds a silky texture while nourishing and protecting the skin.
Squalene (from olives) – A lightweight moisturizer that improves elasticity and prevents dryness.

Orange Essential Oil – Bright, uplifting citrus scent that is known for its natural mood boosting effects, relieves stress & anxiety, helps transition from busy thoughts to rest mode.
Grapefruit Essential Oil – Reduces stress & anxiety, helps energize the senses and combat emotional fatigue. Improve optimism. Assists with lymph circulation.
Geranium Essential Oil – Floral-herbal oil known for hormonal support, skin health, emotional balance, stress-related flare ups. It helps stabilize emotional and endocrine responses. Ideal for oil & dry skin. Supports collagen & elasticity. Soothes trauma & helps emotional grounding.
Lavender Essential Oil – Known for relaxing and calming the mind, helps with anxiety, stress tension, overthinking, restlessness, eczema, and dry skin. Mild pain relief for joint stiffness, and muscle tension.
Rosemary Essential Oil – Stimulating and clarifying, with natural antimicrobial properties. Helps memory and focus, circulation, and respiratory support. Helpful with mild arthritis discomfort, and joint mobility.
Sage Essential Oil – Known for grounding and purifying effects. Enhancing concentration & focus. Cleansing mental fog, soothing anxiety & energetic heaviness.
Pine Essential Oil – Fresh and invigorating, promotes clarity, vitality, respiratory support, and uplifting energy. Helps relieve muscle soreness, joint discomfort, mild arthritis tension, and uplifts low mood in winter months.
Wintergreen Essential Oil - Powerful, soothing, anti-inflammatory. Helps relieve muscle, arthritis, and joint swelling. Mental clarity, refreshing and uplifting sensation, reducing feelings of fatigue.
Bergamot Essential Oil – Helps with feelings of sadness or overwhelm, encourages optimism & ease, emotional grounding.
Frankincense Essential Oil – Sacred, grounding, rejuvenating botanical known for its remarkable effects on the mind. Promotes emotional resilience. Supports collagen, soothing skin, and joint stiffness.
Other Natural Functional Ingredients
Aqua (Water) – The base of every formulation, helping to hydrate and bind ingredients. Typically added during the second half of the formulation.
Glycerine – A natural humectant that draws moisture into the skin, keeping it soft and hydrated. Typically added during the second half of the formulation.
Olivem 1000 – A natural emulsifier from olives that helps oils and water blend seamlessly. It mimics the skin's natural lipids, strengthen's the skin barrier, excellent tolerance even for the most sensitive skin, suitable for infants, eczema-prone skin, and reactive skin.
